Elmwood, NE : Two people were dead a car rammed into the rear of another on Sunday night September 21st 2014

Two people were killed when a car rammed into the rear of another near Elmwood in southeast Nebraska. The accident occurred a little before 7:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 34, about a mile and a half southeast of Elmwood. The Cass County Sheriff's Office says in a news release that a westbound car driven by 25-year-old Edward Koch, of Quincy, Illinois, struck the rear of the other car, which was driven by 23-year-old Matthew Kirchhoff, of Weeping Water. The Sheriff's Office says Kirchhoff and his passenger, 22-year-old Emily Widger, of Lincoln, were pronounced dead at the scene. Koch was taken to a Lincoln hospital. The crash is being investigated.
