An early morning vehicle crash is causing headaches for drivers on Interstate 85.

The accident was cleared by 7 a.m. near the I-85/77 interchange but traffic on southbound Interstate 85 was backed up for nearly 10 miles after the crash forced all lanes to be closed.

Traffic is moving but very slowly.

Motorists heading into Charlotte from Cabarrus Co. should consider an alternate route.
