Victorville, CA : A woman died after she was struck by a vehicle at Intersection of D and Sixth streets On Friday, May 20th, 2016
Authorities said a woman died after she was struck by a vehicle early Friday morning.
The incident was reported as a hit and run crash involving a pedestrian and occurred at 1:05 a.m. Friday at the intersection of D and Sixth streets. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner said emergency personnel arrived and found a woman
dead at the scene.
The name of the woman is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle that struck her left the scene without stopping. Deputy Brett Haynes told the Daily Press the vehicle was described as a 1994 to 1998 light-colored Ford Mustang with a missing passenger-side headlamp, rear view mirror,
and windshield wiper, and authorities continued to search for the Mustang on Friday.
The crash shut down D Street between Fourth and Seventh streets for hours as authorities investigated the scene. The road was not reopened until around 9 a.m. Friday.
Daily Press messages left with the Victorville Sheriff’s station were not returned, and it was not known if the driver and the Mustang involved in the crash were found Friday.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team.
