Eagle River, AK : A fatal car crash on the Glenn Highway on Saturday, December, 9th 2017
Alaska State Troopers responded to a fatal car crash on the Glenn Highway near the Old Glenn Highway (Palmer Alternate) interchange Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, a man was found dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash, which was reported at around 3 p.m. Saturday. In a brief Nixle statement, the department said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
“The preliminary investigation has found this to be a single vehicle crash,” police wrote. “The driver of a white Chevy Blazer drove into a ditch. An adult male was found deceased at the scene. An adult female was driven to the hospital by a friend with a leg injury.”
Police did not say who was driving or provide any other details about the crash, which caused the closure of one northbound and one southbound lane of traffic for several hours while investigators worked the scene. APD said the scene was cleared at around 6 p.m.
