Westwood,MA : Boy dies of injuries from Sunday Westwood pedestrian accident on November, Sunday 19th 2017

The 6-year-old Westwood boy struck by a car Sunday has died of his injuries, school officials said.

WCVB-TV reported that Edward Thomson was crossing at the intersection of Pond Street and Lakeshore Drive in Westwood at about 3 p.m. Sunday when Eddie and his father were struck and seriously injured by a car. The boy's sister was with them at the time but was not injured.

Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene and was interviewed. Apparently, the woman's vision was obscured by sun glare, and police say the incident appears accidental. The investigation continues.

Grief counselors from the Westwood Youth and Family Services will be available for students at the Westwood's Sheehan School.
