Orange County, FL : 26-year-old man struck and killed while crossing Orange County road early Thursday, May 7, 2015

A 26-year-old man from Canada crossing a roadway was struck by an SUV and killed early Thursday near the Orange-Osceola county line, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Camille Champagne, of St. Chalres Borromee, Quebec, died in the crash, which occurred around 2 a.m. on U.S. 192 at Vista Del Lago Boulevard.

According to the FHP, a Dodge Durango driven by a 26-year-old Davenport man hit Champagne, who was in a marked crosswalk. The driver was not injured, and it's not known if he faces charges.

Champagne was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The crash shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. 192, but the roadway later reopened.
