A Panhandle teen has died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while helping to search for a lost dog.
The Panama City News Herald reports that police in Chipley are asking for help finding the driver who struck 18-year-old Thomas Richardson.
Richardson had found an elderly woman's missing dog dead on a street and had called police. He was waiting for officers when he was struck and killed. He died late Thursday after he was air-lifted to a Panama City hospital.
Police say they are looking for a newer model, dark-colored car that was travelling west on South Boulevard in Chipley around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
