A two-car crash in Coon Rapids early Saturday morning left two people critically injured.
A 19-year-old Coon Rapids man was headed east on 131st Avenue Northwest in a Subaru Impreza at 2:12 a.m. when his car collided with a Ford Explorer traveling northbound at the intersection of Coon Creek Boulevard Northwest, a statement from the Anoka County sheriff's office said.
The driver of the Explorer, a 38-year-old Andover woman, was critically hurt and taken to an area hospital.
Two passengers in the Impreza also were transported to a hospital: a 20-year-old man with critical injuries and a 17-year-old girl with minor injuries.
The driver of the Impreza suffered minor injuries.
Alcohol and speed on the part of the Impreza driver "may be involved," the sheriff's office said.
The names of the victims were not available Saturday.
The crash also caused a power outage in the area.
The sheriff's office, the Minnesota State Patrol and Coon Rapids police are investigating.
