Crystal Lake,IL : 5 injured in 2-vehicle McHenry crash, fire official says on January, Friday 26th 2018
Five people were taken to the hospital after a two-car crash Friday night in McHenry.
McHenry firefighters responded about 8:20 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Oak Drive and Elm Street for a two-vehicle collision, Fire Battalion Chief Dave Harwood said.
McHenry Deputy Police Chief Thomas Walsh said a Ford Focus was traveling west on Elm Street and collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, which was traveling south on Oak Drive and trying to make a left turn onto Elm Street.
Four people were taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry, and one was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. All had injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Harwood said.
Walsh said the Malibu had four passengers, ages 50, 34, 31 and 8. Information about the passengers was not available because the crash report was not complete Saturday, Walsh said.
Erica Flores, 42, of Woodstock was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device, and David Corder, 59, of McHenry was issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
The roadway was closed for about 40 minutes to allow rescue personnel to treat injuries and remove the vehicles.
