Gaston County, NC : 23-year-old woman killed in Gaston County crash on Friday morning, September 4th 2015

A Gastonia woman died after crashing in Cramerton early Friday morning, officials say.
Just before 3:50 a.m., 23-year-old Amanda Elaine Metcalf was driving on Mayflower Avenue near Eighth Avenue when the car traveled off the road, down an embankment and struck a tree, officials say.
Metcalf was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where she died of her injuries. Officials say no other vehicles were involved.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Cramerton Police Department.
