CHESTERFIELD, VA : 68-year-old woman hit and killed on Route 1 on Sunday, 8th September 2024

The identity of a pedestrian struck and killed while crossing Route 1 Sunday night has been released.

Just before 8 p.m., first responders were called to a crash involving a 2001 Nissan Altima and a pedestrian.

The victim, Barbara J. Royster, 68, of Chesterfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved stayed at the scene.
