HILLSBORO, OR : 1 dead after crash between motorcycle and school bus in Hillsboro on Wednesday, 14th June 2023

A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon following a crash with a school bus, according to the Hillsboro Police Department.

At about 3:46 p.m., officers were called out to a crash at the intersection of East Main Street and Northeast 55th Avenue. Police say an investigation revealed a motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Cordell Dylan Tate, was traveling west on E. Main when he collided with the school bus, which was turning on E. Main from 55th.

Tate died at the scene. Police say the school bus driver and the 11 students on the bus were not hurt.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is leading the ongoing investigation. Police say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
