MILWAUKEE, WI : A 61-year-old woman died after a violent crash on Monday, August 14, 2017

A 61-year-old woman died Monday after a violent crash on the city's northwest side.

Witnesses told WISN 12 NEWS the SUV hit at least two trees before it flipped and landed on its roof near North Teutonia Avenue and West Green Tree Avenue.

The woman was trapped inside the SUV and Flight for Life responded to take her to a hospital where she later was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
