Monticello, IL : Heart attack caused Monticello crash on Saturday morning, December 20, 2014

Robert L. Howard, a 79-year-old Decatur man, died and a female restaurant employee received minor injuries when Howard suffered a heart attack and crashed into a restaurant on the city's far north side.

First responders were sent to Red Wheel Restaurant, 803 Iron Horse Place, at 10:49 a.m. Saturday, the Monticello Police Department said a news release.

A preliminary investigation showed that Howard's heart attack cause the accident. Howard was pronounced dead at Kirby Medical Center.

The employee suffered minor injuries to her right leg and both hands.
