DESOTO COUNTY, FL : Bicyclist killed in DeSoto County crash on Thursday, 28th December 2023

A bicyclist was killed in DeSoto County on Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van was driving north along US 17 near Southwest Skates Street around 7:18 p.m.

A 40-year-old man riding a bicycle got into the north lane as the van was approaching.

FHP states the front of the van crashed into the bicyclist.
