Phoenix police worked three very serious traffic collisions Sunday night. Officer James Holmes told CBS 5 News they all happened in intersections as drivers turned left. The first one happened at Unions Hills Road and 32nd Street. A passenger car was eastbound on Union Hills and did not see an oncoming motorcycle. When the car driver turned left at the intersection, he hit the motorcycle. Its driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Not long after that at Bell Road and 49th Avenue, an elderly couple were in a car turning north onto 49th Avenue. A westbound vehicle hit them in the intersection. The elderly female passenger died at a nearby hospital. Finally, a motorcycle going west on Union Hills went to turn left on 35th Avenue but was hit by a truck in the next lane.
