1 dead, several injured in Bridgewater car wreck

One person was killed and at least four others injured in a car wreck along Route 22 in Bridgewater, New Jersey, Thursday morning. According to authorities, the accident happened near Adamsville Road sometime before 7 a.m. That'™s where two carscollided in the westbound lanes.Responding emergency personnel were forced to cut the doors off one of the vehicles to free passengers inside.

The victims were transported to area hospitals with multiple unknown injuries. One person – who was not immediately identified – was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

The wreck prompted authorities to close traffic in the westbound lanes of Route 22.
Officials are still investigating the crash.
