BAY COUNTY, MI : Bay County firefighter hit and injured at crash scene on U.S. 10 on Monday, 1st January 2024

Police are looking for a vehicle that hit a Bay County firefighter as he was attending to a driver who went off the roadway along U.S. 10 early on New Year's Day.

The Monitor Township Fire Department west of Bay City responded to at least two separate crashes involving numerous vehicles on the freeway around 1:45 a.m. The road surface was icing at the time, which caused the crashes.

A Monitor Township firefighter checked on a vehicle that went off the road when another vehicle hit him. An ambulance transported the firefighter to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Monday morning.
