A Marianna High School senior was killed and a 12-year-old critically injured in an ATV wreck Tuesday afternoon near Marianna.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, Cason Hatcher, 12, of Marianna was driving the ATV eastbound on Ontario Road with Michael Riley Torbett, 17, also of Marianna, as a passenger. Hatcher allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Ontario and Martin Roads and was struck on the right side by a Dodge Avenger driven by William Glenn Haney, 18, of Marianna.
The collision caused the ATV to overturn, coming to a rest on private property on the east shoulder of Martin Road before catching fire. The Avenger collided with a ditch before coming to a final resting point facing northwest. The ATV was completely destroyed.
Haney and his passenger, Eva Rose Pullin, 15, also of Marianna, received minor injuries.
No charges have been filed as the investigation is still ongoing.
