BEAVERTON, OR : Beaverton woman dead in wrong-way driver crash on Saturday, December 17th 2016
Authorities say a wrong-way driver died Saturday after colliding with three other vehicles on U.S. Highway 26 near Beaverton.
The Washington County sheriff's office says 20-year-old Madeline Duncan of Beaverton died in the crash that occurred not long after 1 a.m.
Authorities say the driver and passenger in one of the other vehicles sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
Police say Duncan drove her 2008 Honda Civic eastbound in the westbound lanes, initially at a slow speed but then accelerating to possibly over 100 miles per hour.
Police say they set up spike strips but the crash occurred before Duncan got that far.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
