FORT COLLINS, CO : Driver of scooter seriously injured in Fort Collins crash on Monday, October, 23rd 2017
The driver of a motorized scooter suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon when he was struck by a minivan on South Taft Hill Road, according to Fort Collins police.
Raymond Duvall, 48, was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting to turn left into a home's driveway, when a northbound Dodge Caravan driven by Warren Ward, 89, ran into the back of Duvall's scooter, police said in a press release.
Duvall, who wasn't wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Ward wasn't injured, the release said.
South Taft Hill Road was closed for about three hours after the 12:15 p.m. crash as the Fort Collins police CRASH team investigated. The release said the investigation still is underway, and charges are pending.
