FLOWOOD, MS : Police officer injured after crash on Friday, 19th January 2024

A Flowood Police Department officer has been taken to a local hospital for treatment after he was involved in a crash on Lakeland Drive Friday night.

Flowood Police Spokesman Sean Haddakin said the officer was responding to a call from a fellow officer for assistance with a suspect who was fleeing a scene after marijuana was found in his car. That suspect is in custody.

The responding officer was driving with full blue lights and siren when a driver pulled out in front of him at the Luckney Road traffic light on Lakeland Drive.

The driver was not injured and she will not be charged.
