White City, OR :Fatal Crash on Highway 140 on Thursday, July 2nd 2015
Oregon State Police (OSP) and emergency crews responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 140 near milepost 24, east of White City, on Thursday. Police report that preliminary information indicated Carl Morris, 69, of Eagle Point, was traveling westbound when it is believed that a bird flew into his open window. Officials say Morris became distracted and lost control. The vehicle rolled into a ditch. Morris was extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews and taken by air ambulance to a Medford area hospital where he later died.Police say Morris was wearing his seat belt. OSP was assisted by Lake Creek Fire, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Mercy Flights and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
