Lenexa, KS : Motorcyclist killed in wreck near 87th and Monrovia in Lenexa on Friday night, July 1, 2016

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night near 87th and Monrovia streets in Lenexa, according to police.

Lenexa officers responded to the wreck shortly before 8:30 p.m. and found the motorcyclist injured but still alive. Officers performed life-saving measures and the man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle was traveling west on 87th Street at high speed when it crashed in the median.

The man’s name was not immediately released pending notification of family.

The Lenexa Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.
