MALABAR, FL : 2 killed in rear-end crash in Brevard County on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024

Two people died in a crash in Brevard County early Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The crash happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. on State Road 514 (Malabar Road) at Marie Street in Malabar.

Troopers said a pickup truck and an SUV were traveling eastbound on Malabar Road when the SUV slowed down to make a left turn onto Marie Street.

The driver of the pickup truck failed to notice the slowing SUV and rear-ended it.

As a result of the collision, the SUV veered off the road and overturned, according to troopers.

Both occupants of the SUV – a 56-year-old Melbourne man and a 42-year-old Malabar man – were pronounced dead at the scene.
