Shortly after 10 p.m. Peterborough Police Capt. Ernest Belletete, who was on scene directing traffic around the scene through a detour through the South Meadow School parking lot, said the investigation of the scene had concluded and police were waiting for the hearse to arrive to take the body away and for a tow truck for the vehicle.

The road reopened around 10:30 p.m., four hours after the accident.
