SCOFIELD, UT : Identity released of woman killed in head-on collision with semi-truck in Utah County on Tuesday, 29th October 2024
The woman killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck north of Scofield Reservoir in Utah County has been identified.
Utah Department of Transportation officials said Scarleth Ramnarine, 54, of West Jordan, was a passenger in the pickup truck involved in the crash on SR-96 just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
The pickup was reportedly traveling westbound near milepost 17 when it struck an eastbound semi. Ramnarine sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the semi-truck driver was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Both directions of SR-96 were closed for several hours for cleanup and the crash investigation. Authorities said weather conditions appeared to be a factor in the collision.
