Glasgow, KY : Hart County woman dies, 2 others injured after wreck on North Jackson Highway on Tuesday, February 14, 2017

A Hart County woman died after a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, according to a Thursday-morning Barren County Sheriff's Office press release.

At approximately 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, the BCSO responded to an injury accident on North Jackson Highway. James R. Lockett, 85, of Hardyville was traveling south in his 2008 Chevrolet Impala when he crossed into the northbound lane of traffic, and his vehicle struck a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Bobby Pennington, 56, of Horse Cave head on. Pennington and Lockett were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the accident, according to the press release.

A passenger in Pennington’s van, Florence Mynes, 83, of Hardyville was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the accident, but Mynes was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to the BCSO press release.

Deputy Mike Houchens is investigating the accident. He was assisted on scene by Deputy Adam Bow, Sheriff Kent Keen, the Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department, the Glasgow Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe County Emergency Medical Services and Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management, according to the press release.
