Firefighters, police and paramedics face many risks and hazards when they respond to emergencies.
Sometimes it’s icy pavement, leaking gasoline or live electric lines.
Thursday, it was a bunch of snakes that emerged from an underground nest when a truck hit an embankment along Route 403 near Deckers Point Road in Green Township. (Kevin G. Stiffler/Gazette photo)
The Indiana County 911 center sent help for a report of injuries in the wreck at 9:33 p.m.
Police released no information before press time.
