Richmond , VA : 50 Years old man was killed after his pickup truck rolled over at Swamp Road on Sunday evening , January 18th 2015
A Richmond man was killed Sunday evening after his pickup truck rolled over on Swamp Road — about a mile from his home, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Michael B. Renzi, 50, of Swamp Road, was ejected from his Ford F-150 pickup about 7:30 p.m. Sunday near the Pittsfield city line, police said.
Renzi was the owner of a Pittsfield-based painting company.
Pittsfield police and fire departments initially responded to the scene as a 911 caller indicated the accident was on Barker Road, which turns into Swamp Road in Richmond. Upon arrival, city police notified state police from the Lee barracks.
Pittsfield fire officials said the pickup apparently rolled over before coming to rest upright; Renzi was found in the road when rescuers arrived.
Emergency personnel performed CPR on Renzi before transporting him to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he was pronounced dead.
A state police spokesman had no other details of the crash on Monday. It was not clear whether Renzi was wearing a seat belt.
Although area roads were wet from a mix of snow and rain at the time of the crash, state police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
