Roosevelt,UT : Duchesne man killed in fatal car accident near Park City on may, Friday 26th 2017

A Duchesne man was killed and a West Jordan woman was critically injured when a semitrailer hit a passenger vehicle on Friday night near Park City.

Landon B. Peatross, 41, was the passenger in a silver Saturn which was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 40 at approximately midnight. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a semitrailer crested a hill and rear-ended the passenger vehicle.

Peatross was transported to Park City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old woman who has not been identified, was flown to University of Utah Hospital in critical condition, according to the UHP.

The UHP reported that the semi "did not appear to be traveling very fast" at the time of the accident. The driver was distracted by his cell phone when he rear-ended the Saturn.

All occupants in both vehicles were wearing seat belts at the time the crash occurred.
