5 kills in detours traffic at Mississippi accident

A wreck on Interstate 10 in the eastbound lanes between mile markers 62 and 63 has killed 5 people, said Master Sgt. Johnny Poulos of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

A spokeswoman for the Gautier Police Department said the wreck occurred at the Martin Bluff overpass and involves fire. In all, 6 cars were involved.

Traffic was being detoured at the Mississippi 57 intersection, she said. The detour could be active for several more hours.
Poulos said Gautier police are working the wreck, but he was headed to the scene to assist.
