Ocala,FL : Motorcyclist killed in Micanopy crash on May, Sunday 13th 2018

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a Clermont man was killed Sunday when a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle he was driving on U.S. 441 in Micanopy.

Jeffrey Martin DeLong, 28, died in the crash, which occurred around 12:54 p.m. at the intersection with County Road 234, according to an FHP media release.

Alaina Danielle Johnson, 25, of Fort McCoy, a passenger on the 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, was seriously injured.

Troopers said DeLong was driving south on U.S. 441 when a 1998 Lincoln Continental pulled out in front of him at CR 234 and was hit. The driver of the car, Freddie Lee Slater, 50, of Ocala, was not injured.

DeLong was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said Johnson was wearing a helmet. DeLong was not.
