Gila Bend, AZ : One person dead in Fatal vehicle crash on Interstate 8 near Gila Bend on Monday morning, October 13, 2014

A fatal crash forced an hours-long closure of the westbound lanes of Interstate 8 just west of Gila Bend. Arizona Department of Public Safety official says the crash Monday morning involved a semi-tractor and a motorcycle. One person was killed but their name wasn't immediately released. Traffic was being stopped at Citrus Valley Road near mile marker 111 around 11 a.m. with traffic returning to I-8 at Paloma Road. The westbound lanes were finally reopened around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
