St. Johnsbury, VT : Vt. trooper blamed for St. Johnsbury crash on Thursday, March 24, 2016

Police say an on-duty Vermont State Police detective was at fault for causing a car crash in St. Johnsbury Thursday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Railroad Street and Concord Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

Investigators say Cassandra Herbes, 28, a Vermont State Police detective, was driving an unmarked state vehicle when she ran a red light and struck a driver in the intersection. They say Daniel Allard, 24, and his family were taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Police tell us Detective Herbes was back at work Friday.
