Jasper, FL : One fatality in a two-vehicle wreck in Hamilton County on Sunday, May 15, 2016

A two-vehicle wreck on County Road 249 at the intersection of County Road 158 resulted in one fatality Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

According to the report, Jessica Nichole Leach, 32, of Live Oak was traveling westbound on CR 158 around 12:15 a.m., approaching the intersection with CR 249. Darrly Lorraine Carter, 52, of Jasper, was traveling southbound on CR 249 approaching the intersection with CR 158.

Leach attempted to travel across the intersection, entering the immediate path of Carter, the report states.

The front of Carter’s 2013 Chevrolet Silverado struck the passenger side of Leach’s 2005 Pontiac G6. Leach’s car overturned onto the driver’s side and struck a utility pole.

Leach was pronounced deceased on scene. Her juvenile passenger was transported to Shands UF in critical condition.

According to the FHP, Leach was under the influence at the time of the wreck.

Carter and her passenger Mark Wayne Kelly, 51, of Jasper received minor injuries, according to the report. Carter was transported to Shands UF and Kelly was transported to Lake City Medical Center.
