Watertown, CT : Torrington man killed in wrong-way crash on Route 8 in Watertown on Saturday, Aug 22, 2015

Police say a Connecticut man was killed after his vehicle was struck by a wrong way driver in Watertown.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Police say 43-year-old John Fretts, of Morris, was driving on the wrong side of Route 8 and crashed head first into the car of Daniel Dziadik of Torrington.

Police say the 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Fretts was taken to Waterbury Hospital after complaining of back, leg and arm pain.

The incident is under investigation.
