Sacramento,CA : A 19-year-old woman killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday, July 9, 2017
A 19-year-old woman killed Sunday night in a motorcycle crash in Redding was identified Tuesday by the Shasta County Coroner's Office as Kennetha Rae Dillon.
She was a passenger on a motorcycle involved in a collision with a car on Hartnell Avenue and Middleton Lane in Redding.
Redding police have said James Raymer, 52, of Redding was driving west on Hartnell Avenue near Middleton Lane shortly before 6 p.m., when he turned left in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver, Damon Bedore, 25, of Redding, and Dillon were trapped underneath the car, a Honda Civic, police have said.
Redding Fire Department officials were finally able to free both of them, and they were taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, police said.
Dillon was pronounced dead around 11:20 p.m., while Bedore was transferred to the University of California Medical Center at Davis.
A hospital spokesman said Bedore remains in the intensive care unit there, but he did not provide information about his condition.
Police have said Bedore, who was driving on a suspended license, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but Dillon was not.
Police also said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
