Topeka, KS : Lawrence man injured after crossing median on K-10, crashing into pole on Thursday, 18th February 2021

A Lawrence man was taken to a hospital for an injury he suffered Thursday morning in a car wreck on Kansas Highway 10.

The man, Jason Wiegert, 37, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for a “suspected serious injury,” according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log. The wreck occurred around 7:40 a.m. near the intersection of K-10 and East 1900 Road, just east of Lawrence.

According to the crash log, Wiegert was heading eastbound on the highway but crossed the median and westbound traffic, then crashed into a light pole in the ditch north of the highway. No further details were available Thursday.
