Eau Claire,WI : Driver of crash that killed two may have been intoxicated on December, Friday 15th 2017

Speed, road conditions and driver impairment likely caused a crash Friday that killed two women, according to a news release from the Clark County sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call of the crash at about 11:13 p.m. Friday near Sidney Avenue in the town of Pine Valley.

Trenton M. Bemis, 26, of the Humbird Area, was believed to have been intoxicated when the Chrevrolet pickup truck he was driving crossed the center line on U.S. 10. The truck struck an eastbound Chevrolet Impala head on.

Occupants of the car, Michelle L. Kunze, 29, and her passenger Genie L.M. Carrillo, 35, both of the Neillsville area, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner, the 8th and 9th traffic fatalities in the county in 2017.

Bemis was taken to a Neillsville hospital and then to the Marshfield Medical Center for incapacitating injuries.

All drivers were wearing seat belts.
