WARWICK, RI : Motorcyclist killed in crash on Airport Road in Warwick on Saturday, October, 7th 2017

The Warwick police are investigating a Saturday evening crash on Airport Road that left the driver of a motorcycle dead.

The police responded around 6:17 p.m. Saturday to the area of 61 Airport Road to the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car. The driver of the motorcycle, 48-year-old John Boulay, of Manning Street, Warwick, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The police identified the motorist as James Miller, 30, also of Warwick.

Boulay was traveling west on Airport Road when Miller’s motor vehicle cut into his lane, causing a collision, the police said in a news release. Boulay was not wearing a helmet.

Speed, distracted driving and impairment do not appear to be factors at this time, and criminal charges are not expected, the police said. Civil violations are pending and will be issued by the crash reconstruction team, the police said.
