Longview, TX : Two injured when SUV crashes into building on Wednesday night, August 6, 2014
Two people were injured Wednesday night when a vehicle crashed into a Longview building.
At 9:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Green Street on reports of an accident with injuries, according to the Longview Police Department. When authorities arrived, they discovered an SUV, driven by 30-year-old Latoya Shenae Addison, of Longview, was involved in the crash.
Addison told police she was heading west on Young Street and made a right onto Green Street when she lost control of her vehicle. The SUV left the road and hit a parked car in a parking lot. The vehicle also hit two bystanders and a building. Officers said a third vehicle was damaged by the car being pushed into it by the SUV.
The two people injured were identified as Robert Lee Mayfield, 59, of Longview, and Jo Anne Smith, 45, of Longview. They were taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The four passengers in Addison's SUV, which included three young children, were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
