Centerville, CA : 58-year-old man killed in 3-vehicle crash on Highway 180, past Rio Vista Avenue on Saturday, July 16, 2016

A 58-year-old man from Lemoore was killed Saturday in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 180, just east of Centerville, the California Highway Patrol said.

A 2002 Ford F-350 pickup driven by a 76-year-old Three Rivers man was traveling east on Highway 180, just past Rio Vista Avenue, at 50 mph around 11:05 a.m., when the pickup crossed into the westbound lanes of the highway, CHP Sgt. Mike Trenholm said. The F-350 sideswiped a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by a 25-year-old Fresno man, traveling west at 50 mph, before colliding head-on into the victim’s 2001 Toyota Camry, which was traveling at an unknown speed.

The victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head and upper torso, Trenholm said. He was declared dead at the scene by Sanger fire and paramedics. The Ford pickup driver was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment after complaining of pain.
