11-year-old killed in Lancaster County crash
The New Holland Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed an 11-year-old girl, and injured five others, Sunday.
According to police, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the 600 block of N. Railroad Avenue in Earl Township.
Police said a Nissan with four occupants lost control due to icy conditions, and struck a Kia SUV with two occupants.
Multiple people were trapped, and had to be extricated, police said.
An 11-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the Lancaster General Hospital, police said. Five others were injured.
Joseph Kuhns, 47, of Quarrysville, the driver of the Nissan, is in serious condition, police said.
Rose Ann Kuhns, 40, is in critical condition.
A 14-year-old girl was transferred to the Hershey Medical Center in critical condition.
Ronald Gardiner, 70, of Ephrata, who police said was the driver of the Kia, was reported to be in stable condition, and an unnamed 45-year-old male passenger was listed in stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
