Marysville, CA : Man suffers major injuries in SUV crash on Highway 99 near Live Oak Friday afternoon, July 8, 2016
A Chico man was extricated from his sport utility vehicle Friday afternoon after the vehicle swerved off Highway 99 near Live Oak, traveled over railroad tracks and through an orchard while hitting trees and a chain link fence.
James B. Ochs, 48, was transported to Rideout Regional Medical Center by Bi-County Ambulance for treatment of major injuries, according to a California Highway Patrol press release.
The crash occurred about 1:44 p.m. near Paseo Road.
Union Pacific Railroad was notified, and all train traffic was stopped for about 30 minutes.
The cause of the single-vehicle crash was not immediately known, the release said.
