JACKSON COUNTY, MS : Moss Point man arrested after overnight chase, female passenger seriously injured in crash on Tuesday, November 15th 2016
A man was on the run for more than eight hours overnight after allegedly burglarizing a vehicle and then leading authorities on a chase through Jackson County.
Sheriff Mike Ezell said a female passenger in the getaway car was seriously injured when the chase ended with a crash on Wolf Ridge Rd. She was taken to Singing River Hospital for treatment, but her condition is unknown at this time.
Ezell said the chase started around 6 p.m. Tuesday when a Pascagoula police detective saw Brian Teague, of Moss Point, burglarizing a car in the parking lot of a business on Hwy. 613 in the Big Point community. When the officer turned on his blue lights, Teague reportedly drove off and almost hit the officer’s car.
Ezell said the chase continued south on Hwy. 613. Teague, 28, turned onto Big Point Rd. and cut through a field and yard before returning to the roadway.
Ezell said sheriff’s deputies joined the chase when Teague turned onto Wolf Ridge Rd. That’s when the Trailblazer Teague was driving left the roadway and hit a tree.
Teague left his injured female passenger, according to Ezell. He was arrested during a traffic stop around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Teague is charged with felony pursuit, aggravated assault on a police officer, and felony leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries.
He is being held at the Jackson County jail without bond.
