Little River, SC : Man and woman died following a crash near intersection of S.C. 90 and Carriage Lake Drive on Wednesday, March 2, 2016

A serious crash Wednesday killed a man and a woman near the intersection of S.C. 90 and Carriage Lake Drive.

The crash occurred just around 3 p.m. and the S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident. The identities of the victims will be released at noon on Thursday, according to Horry County deputy coroner Michelle McSpadden.

S.C. 90 was closed to traffic for several hours, according to North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

A Cadillac was reportedly traveling east on 90 and ran off the right side of the roadway. The car then came back onto the roadway and crossed the center line where it was struck by a Prius that was traveling west on 90.

The driver and the passenger of the Cadillac were killed as a result of this crash and both were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the Prius was transported to Grand Strand ER and was also wearing a seat belt.
