ANESVILLE, WI: Two vehicle crash in Rock Co leads to closures on Thursday, 22nd June 2023

A motorcycle rider died early Thursday morning when an SUV crossed the centerline of a Rock Co. highway and struck his Harley-Davidson head-on, the Rock Co. Sheriff’s Office reported.

The SUV’s driver was arrested following the wreck and booked on counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, OWI, among other allegations, its statement continued. The 47-year-old man’s is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the 2017 Kia SUV was heading east on W. Hwy. 11around 4:30 a.m. when it went into the oncoming lane and collided with the motorcycle, near N. Pahl Road.

Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures on the motorcycle rider, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 53-year-old Janesville man’s name has not been released.
