Hudson, FL : 36-year-old Aripeka man died when car collided with a pickup truck on U.S. 19 in Pasco County on Tuesday, December 22, 2015

A 36-year-old Aripeka man was killed Tuesday when his car collided with a pickup truck on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Michael Hohimer was driving a Toyota Corolla north on 19 near Houston Avenue when the driver of a Dodge Dakota heading south lost control on the wet pavement, troopers said. The truck rotated, crossed the raised median and entered the Toyota's path. The front of the Toyota struck the front ride side of the pickup.

Hohimer was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, 56-year-old Eleanor Nugent of New Port Richey, was treated for minor injuries at Regional Medical Center Bayonet.
