Alachua County, FL : Man, 63, killed in crash on U.S. 301 in Alachua County on Sunday, 12th August 2018

A St. Johns man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 301 in Alachua County on Sunday.

Dennis John Lawrence, 63, was killed in the accident around 12:26 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

Lawrence was driving south in a 2002 Ford F-150 when, based on witness accounts, he slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right.

The truck went onto the road’s right shoulder, spun and rolled over, according to FHP. Lawrence was partially ejected.
